Luc Estebanez

How is sensori-motor integration performed in the brain? How can complex sensory scenes get processed into multi-dimensional motor commands? These are the central questions I try to address at the level of the primary sensory and motor cortex, using a closed-loop neuroscience strategy.

This strategy requires the development of robust chronic interfacing with the brain, and raises in a practical way the question of information coding in cortex: how can we exchange relevant information with the brain without relying on the periphery?

At the moment, I am particularly interested in the mesoscale (the scale of cortical maps and waves of activity) and how information is processed and conveyed at this specific scale.
